Super over controls past Japan Gov.

Foreigners are allowed to visit North korea only yet not in Japan.

Thé US and 10 countries in Europe let free passage merely Nihon is nonetheless 'because'

How tedious Nippon is…

3 ( +17 / -14 )

Matt

The bigger sticking bespeak for me is the 3 PCR tests needed for re-entry.

13 ( +17 / -4 )

Desert Tortoise

Thé United states of america and x countries in Europe permit free passage but Nihon is still 'considering'

How wearisome Japan is…

They're smart. U.k. and about of the EU have lifted most Covid-19 restrictions and not surprisingly infection rates have doubled in the past calendar week. We are not over this pandemic yet despite all the misguided wishful thinking.

How is this number enforced? Is it already counted into the number of airplane tickets sold? Or is it entirely possible to show upwardly for your flight only to exist told that sorry, only the guy in front of you was the last person allowed into Japan??

How many non-tourist visitors were there pre-COVID per mean solar day?

10k per mean solar day is 3.five million. I don't believe there were 10,000 not-tourist visitors, since the total number was thirty million or so in 2019, the vast majority of them Chinese and Korean tour groups.

-4 ( +iii / -seven )

Zoroto

In 2019, about 100,000 tourists entered Japan per day.

Correct, I said that. Only the 10,000 per mean solar day is specifically not for tourists, simply for business concern visitors, "students" and "trainees."

Europe has opened their doors to millions, most unvaccinated. The anti-vaxxers are probably thinking, wait, no vaccine, no masks, no sanitisers, no bubbles, no infections. No one seems to be telling us infection rates anymore, very strange

@sheikh yerboaby

I'd also like to know this. Or if there is even an answer to your questions. Seem like the airlines are just selling tickets to fill % of the planes over the very near term, and 3 + weeks out they publish "phantom" schedules that always change.

Then far Japan hasn't ever hit any of the caps that I'g aware of.

@ zoroto

they can;t carve up tourists and business travelers for much longer. As it is, most business organisation travelers tin can't enter without a sponsor. I would never inquire a Japanese customer to sponspor me nor would I e'er become to Japan to visit but one customer. Add together to that I have decade old friends in Japan. After hundreds of days in Tokyo, what am I? Concern man or Tourist?

Zoroto

Europe has opened their doors to millions, virtually unvaccinated.

Yes, the door are open, but that doesn't mean people are coming. Wait the example of Bali, Phuket and the other places who reopened. Even Europe, even if there are no restriction to practice so, the amount of American tourists are a small fraction of earlier. And, of grade, 0 from Prc.

Aggrandizement is loftier then even in the best of times, tourism would be downwards. Also many people change their lifestyle in these terminal couple of days, and realized they don't need to travel far on the miserable airlines to have a good time.

-three ( +2 / -5 )

couple of days

couple of YEARS, sorry.

They're not economical refugees. They're white Christians for the most part. Lots of children. They're not Chinese and they're not Muslims. It might exist a more than tolerable solution for assimilation and helping with Nihon'southward declining birthrate. Why non plow them loose on the disappearing farms in the shrinking rural areas of Japan? You lot could get two birds with one rock that manner.

-4 ( +two / -6 )

well improve exist conscientious and act advisedly.

i see nothing bad if Japan reacts slow this case.

lets wait until situation will exist kind of normalized and calm.travel away tin await, there is no bustle abt it at all.especially when you get annoyed past some tests or some kind of vaccine passports in many places now...no mode to travel and be humiliated this style...

The discussion to focus on is: May

You requite them besides much credit. I think a meliorate estimation would exist belatedly summertime or fall. Mayhaps even tardily fall.

J-gov's milking the pandemic for all it'south worth to go on out those dingy, disease ridden, troublemaking foreigners while allowing their own people to toddle off to all four corners of the globe for study and concern. The blatant hypocrisy is astonishing.

-ane ( +four / -5 )

Hopefully subsequently that, even if still off limits to tourists , they remove limits on incoming nontourists

0 ( +0 / -0 )

ian

How is this number enforced?

By limiting the number of available pcr tests =)

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Zoroto

Hopefully after that, even if all the same off limits to tourists , they remove limits on incoming nontourists

There is no practical limit to the incoming non-tourists. ten,000 might as well be 1 billion per mean solar day. It will never exist filled with business people.

Almost people in the US take pretty much forgotten near COVID. Information technology'due south all the same around, simply no one is worrying anymore. It'south like how common cold and influenza viruses are out in that location, but most people know they won't have a meaning reaction. At to the lowest degree the vaccinated ones.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Lift all quarantine requirements on residents.

Most people in the US take pretty much forgotten nearly COVID. It's still around, merely no one is worrying anymore. It's like how cold and flu viruses are out there, but about people know they won't take a significant reaction. At least the vaccinated ones.

Seems forgotten merely not gone

At least the vaccinated ones.

When less than 70% are vaccinated, that's a lot of people who need to worry.

"April marks the start of Nihon's business organization and schoolhouse year and demand for travel usually increases at this time of yr."

It'southward besides the twenty-four hours that y'all terminate using the heaters on trains, despite information technology existence more than 22°C in many places today, proving how arbitrary these dates or. Or maybe they take bear witness confirming that foreigners stop carrying the virus from April 1st. Shouldn't they not allow the gates open until 8:00 p.thousand., though, Japan time?

They're smart. United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland and near of the EU have lifted most Covid-nineteen restrictions and not surprisingly infection rates have doubled in the past week. Nosotros are non over this pandemic yet despite all the misguided wishful thinking.

Just the number of people falling seriously ill or dying are very depression compared to the last two years...

Thanks or the link. What a whole lot of hoopla for getting into the country. Who, other than the weeabos, is going to carp with that? I would go somewhere else for my holidays.

I live in the US but can technically become into Nippon because I'm on a family registry at that place (my wife is Japanese). Still we haven't been back because we don't want to sit in a crappy hotel past the airport eating Tv set dinners for half of our vacation, and be under house arrest for the other half.

Anyone know what the deal its now on that front? I almost stopped paying attention.

My married woman still can't visit her aged mother in Japan. This tyranny needs to end and return to the old normal.

The bigger sticking point for me is the three PCR tests needed for re-entry.

Co-ordinate to the U.s.a. Embassy web site and every bit of March 1, if you are fully vaccinated and additional, then yous no longer demand the tertiary test and you can utilize public transport from the airdrome. So that's a bit easier. But even so, traveling to the Us to visit or take care of business organization will require three PCR tests at a toll of about $700, so yeah, that's a problem for me.
